Dhubri: Dhubri Railway Station, one of the oldest stations in Assam dating back to 1905, has undergone various phases of development. In 2023, it was included in the Amrit Bharat Scheme as one of 32 railway stations, with a sanctioned budget of 38.5 crore for redevelopment.The redevelopment work is nearing completion. “By Feb first week, 80 per cent work has been completed and hopefully, it will be completed in the mid of July this year,” an official added.
The railway station falls under the administrative jurisdiction of Alipurduar Railway Division.The redevelopment work includes a wide footbridge with two lifts, a modernised station facade, improve circulating area with horticulture on the extreme south-east corner and enhanced lighting.
