Chandrapur: Member of parliament Pratibha Dhanorkar has filed a formal complaint with the Lok Sabha Speaker, alleging that district officials deliberately insulted her and violated protocol at a government event on Monday. The incident occurred during the official ‘Rajmata Rani Hirai Jayanti’ programme in Chandrapur. In her letter, Dhanorkar said administrative officers ignored the prescribed order of precedence for MPs. While she was addressing the gathering, an MLA was brought onto the stage with fanfare, disrupting proceedings and forcing her to stop her speech.Dhanorkar called the disruption a pre-planned attempt to publicly humiliate an elected representative. She further alleged that the district collector and municipal commissioner acted under ruling party pressure. Political workers with no constitutional post or mention on the invitation were given prominence on stage, as a result, an event funded by public money was effectively turned into a private gathering of a particular political party. She asserted that such conduct by administrative officers is a direct attack on the democratic values of Parliament. The MP has urged the Speaker to refer the matter to the Privileges Committee. She has demanded a full inquiry and strict action under service rules against officers found guilty of misusing authority and breaching protocol.
