Dhanbad: To ensure the smooth and error-free implementation of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of the electoral roll, Dhanbad sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) and electoral registration officer (ERO) Lokesh Barange on Sunday conducted a training programme for volunteers at New Town Hall. The volunteers will assist booth-level officers (BLOs) in carrying out the revision exercise across the Dhanbad Assembly constituency.During the training session, volunteers were familiarised with various electoral forms, enumeration procedures, and methods of identifying absent, shifted, deceased, and duplicate voters. They were also briefed on the preparation of enumeration forms and other essential documentation required during the revision process.Addressing the participants, SDO Lokesh Barange said the volunteers were trained to strengthen the efforts of BLOs and ensure that the SIR is completed accurately and within the stipulated timeline. He said the primary objective of the programme is to make the revision process simple, inclusive, transparent, and completely error-free, adding that volunteers will play a vital role in achieving this goal.The SDM also explained the duties, responsibilities, and operational procedures that volunteers are expected to follow during the revision campaign. He appealed to all volunteers to discharge their responsibilities with sincerity, dedication, and a strong sense of public service to ensure that every eligible voter is properly included in the electoral roll.
