Dhanbad: Calling the surge in violence on suspicions of child-lifting a dangerous and unlawful trend, Dhanbad SSP Prabhat Kumar on Friday urged citizens to not take matters in their own hands in such situations and inform the police instead.Stating that legal action will be taken against such people, Kumar urged citizens to remain calm, verify facts, and report any suspicious activity immediately. “If any person appears suspicious, inform the nearest police station or dial 112 immediately. Assaulting or detaining someone is itself a punishable crime,” he said.He said the police has intensified monitoring of social media platforms, where unverified videos, photos, and messages about child kidnappers are being widely circulated.
