Dhanbad: Dhanbad MP Dulu Mahato has served a legal notice seeking Rs 2 crore in damages from Nirsa MLA Arup Chatterjee, alleging that the legislator made false and defamatory allegations against him and his family during a recent press meet and on various public platforms.According to the notice, the allegations were subsequently circulated widely through print, digital and social media platforms, further damaging the MP’s reputation.The notice demands that the MLA, within seven days, issue an unconditional public written apology to Mahato and his family and calls upon Chatterjee to publicly withdraw all the alleged defamatory statements made against him.The notice also asks the MLA to ensure the removal of all related videos, social media posts and digital content carrying the disputed allegations.Contacted, the Nirsa MLA declined to comment on the legal notice. “I am currently focused on bringing together leaders of different political parties on a common platform to work collectively for the development of Dhanbad,” he said.
