Dhanbad: A rising number of LPG consumers are reportedly receiving ‘delivered’ messages and even cash memo on their mobile phones without getting the gas cylinders. The cylinders are marked ‘delivered’ on the system, preventing fresh bookings for 25 days, they alleged.A resident of Bhishtipara, Mayank Kumar, said, “I booked an LPG cylinder on March 14. I received the delivered’ message on March 23, but the cylinder never arrived. When I approached the agency, I was told that the delivery has been completed in my name. Despite repeated requests, the agency refused to acknowledge my complaint and advised me to wait 25 days before placing a new booking.”A similar incident was reported by Smita Kumari of Housing Colony. “I booked a gas cylinder on March 23 and received a cash memo and delivery message on March 25. Surprisingly, a subsidy amount of Rs 37.76 was also credited to my bank account, though I never received the cylinder,” she claimed.Several consumers claim that such incidents point towards possible black marketing, alleging that cylinders are shown as delivered on paper and then sold at higher prices elsewhere. However, gas agencies have largely dismissed these claims, attributing the issue to technical glitches.A gas agency owner, on condition of anonymity, said, “Such problems may arise due to system errors. Genuine complaints, if received, would be addressed on a priority basis.”
