Kanpur: Deputy commissioner of police (Traffic) Ravindra Kumar on Tuesday inspected major intersections and routes in the city to ensure smooth, safe and well-organised traffic management.During the inspection, physical surveys were carried out at Rocket crossing, Narona Chauraha, Chunniganj Chauraha and Harsh Nagar Chauraha areas.The DCP directed auto and e-rickshaw drivers to operate only on the designated routes. He inspected vehicles on the spot to assess compliance with the traffic rules. The drivers were made aware of the need to strictly follow traffic regulations, avoid causing unnecessary obstructions on roads, and pay special attention to passenger safety.Officers concerned were issued necessary directives to make traffic management more effective. Instructions were also given to strengthen traffic arrangements at major intersections, control illegal parking, and ensure compliance with traffic signals.
