Sridhar/TNNJamshedpur: Deputy commissioner-cum-district election officer (DEO) Rajiv Ranjan inspected several polling stations in urban areas on the inaugural day of the month-long Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 campaign for the electoral roll. The visit was aimed at reviewing ongoing enumeration work and assessing initial arrangements at the booths.During the inspection, Ranjan interacted with booth level officers (BLOs) and took stock of campaign progress. He directed them to conduct the exercise with complete transparency, impartiality and within the stipulated timeline, while strictly following prescribed guidelines.The DEO said the special campaign, scheduled from June 30 to July 29, is intended to make the electoral roll error-free, updated and inclusive. He instructed officials to maintain all forms and related documents received during the campaign as per rules and ensure voters are given necessary information and guidance.Ranjan also asked BLOs to immediately coordinate with the concerned Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) in case of any issue or confusion so that matters can be resolved without delay.He urged all officials and staff engaged in the revision process to work with coordination, responsibility and commitment to make the drive successful, ensuring that every eligible citizen’s name is correctly and accurately included in the electoral roll.The DEO also appealed to residents of the district to cooperate with election officials and provide required information to help prepare a more accurate and updated electoral roll this year.
