Pune: The Talegaon Dabhade police are searching for the driver of a delivery van attached to an e-commerce company for allegedly fleeing with 24 mobile handsets and a camera collectively worth Rs 7.71 lakh.The owner of the van lodged a complaint with the Talegaon Dabhade police on Saturday.An officer from the Talegaon Dabhade police said the complainant’s van was attached to the e-commerce company for deliveries in the Talegaon Dabhade area.“As per the company’s norms, the vehicle was supposed to make only two stops designated by the company. However, between May 3 and May 30, the driver allegedly made unauthorised stops in the Yashwantnagar area and stole the mobile handsets,” the officer said.

He said the theft came to light during an audit. It was found that the driver had stolen 24 mobile handsets and one camera, collectively worth Rs 7.71 lakh, during the period.“We have registered a theft case against the driver. Our investigation is on,” the officer said.
