Pune: A trolley — detached from a tractor after a school bus hit the latter — fatally struck the motorcycle of a quick commerce delivery executive at 4.16 pm on Wednesday on Radha Hotel Chowk–Nanaware Bridge Road in Baner, near Katraj–Dehu Road bypass.The deceased delivery agent was identified as Shivaji Uttamrao Shinde (53) of Baner. The school bus driver also suffered injuries in the accident. The bus was damaged too.“The empty school bus was heading towards Radha Hotel Chowk from Baner. It had a head-on collision with the tractor while returning to the school after dropping all students,” said senior inspector Chandrashekhar Sawant of the Baner police.Explaining the sequence of events, Sawant said, “A motorcycle rider was travelling ahead of the school bus. The bus driver attempted to overtake him. While doing so, the bus collided head-on with the tractor and its trolley. The tractor veered off the road and the trolley borne the impact of the collision.”The senior police inspector said, “Shinde was riding behind the tractor. As soon as the bus hit the tractor, the iron trolley got separated from its chassis, fell off the chassis and struck Shinde. He suffered serious injuries and was shifted to a nearby private hospital. The hospital authorities declared him dead.”Shinde’s son, Gajanan (26), lodged a complaint with the police later in the night. The Baner police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving against the school bus driver (35), a resident of Balewadi, and have served him a notice. tnn
