Gurgaon: A 20-year-old delivery executive died after his motorcycle was hit from behind by a speeding SUV in Sector 49 on Monday afternoon.The deceased, Praveen Kumar, a resident of Sector 71, worked as a delivery boy at a Domino’s outlet in Sector 49.In their complaint to the police, the family stated that he was returning to the store at Omaxe Mall on Sohna Road after completing a delivery. The mother, Usha Devi, said that the incident took place between 2 pm and 2:30 pm. “Near a hotel in Sector 49, close to IT Space Park, a Thar SUV allegedly struck his motorcycle from behind, causing him to fall on the road,” the complaint read.Praveen was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Sector 10 with the help of the store manager, Sanjay Kumar, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. His mother, Usha Devi, in her complaint, alleged that the SUV, was being driven at high speed and in a negligent manner.His younger sister, Priya, 17, said, “We received the news from a family member who was contacted by the store manager. We also got to know that there was a woman who helped my brother to get an ambulance. He went into the ambulance on his own; however, he died on the way.”Based on her statement, police at Sector 50 police station have registered an FIR under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of BNS. The accused driver is yet to be identified, police said.Police said a team visited the hospital after receiving information about the death and collected a medico-legal report.
