New Delhi: A 46-year-old woman was killed after a construction material lift collapsed at an under-construction building in outer Delhi’s Begumpur Sunday morning, police said. A case of causing death by negligence has been registered.The victim, identified as Manju, was passing by the construction site in Rajiv Nagar while on her way to buy milk when the lift allegedly collapsed and fell on her, leaving her critically injured. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead.According to police, information about the incident was received around 9.20 am, following which a team reached the spot. Her body has been sent for post-mortem examination.Police said that no adequate safety measures were at the site and claimed the material lift was installed over the road. A labourer was also injured.
