NEW DELHI: A 21-year-old woman was found murdered inside her home in west Delhi’s Tilak Nagar Wednesday evening. She was stabbed multiple times in the abdomen and other parts of her body, police sources said.The suspect, who is a gym trainer, has fled. Police said the woman and the suspect had known each other for about one-and-a-half years.Police were alerted about the murder through a PCR call. The woman was taken to a hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.There was tension in the locality as the woman and the man suspected of killing her belong to different faiths. There is heavy police deployment in the area.Some relatives and neighbours told the cops that they often saw the gym trainer in the locality and he had been trying to pursue the woman, who was suspected to have rejected him.“A woman, around 21 years of age, was stabbed to death when she was alone at her residence. CCTV footage is being examined and police investigation is under way,” a senior police officer said. Multiple teams have been formed to nab the suspect.Police are trying to scan the woman’s phone for leads. Her parents seemed unaware of her friendship with the trainer, an officer said.Police have raided the gym and the home of the suspect and questioned his family and friends.The woman’s body was preserved in a mortuary for a postmortem Thursday morning.
