New Delhi: Delhi Police has announced that it will organise “Thana Divas-Jan Sunwai” at all police stations across the capital every Saturday from 10am to 2pm to strengthen public outreach and ensure prompt redressal of grievances .The initiative follows directions from LG Taranjit Singh Sandhu and a circular issued by commissioner of police Satish Golchha. The programme, which will begin next week, will provide citizens with an open platform to raise complaints, seek assistance, offer suggestions and flag issues related to policing and public safety. Senior officers will compulsorily attend the hearings.The circular also mandates time-bound disposal of complaints, regular review of pending cases and the creation of citizen-friendly facilities at police stations.
