New Delhi: Delhi govt has proposed an increase in financial assistance for large Kanwar camps from Rs 11 lakh to Rs 15 lakh and to continue free electricity up to 1,200 units. Chief minister Gupta chaired a cabinet meeting where a proposal to increase the financial assistance provided to Kanwar committees for Kanwar Yatra 2026 was approved.Under the proposal, camps spread over more than 20,000 sq ft and operating for six to 12 days will receive up to Rs 15 lakh, while those functioning for three to five days will be eligible for Rs 9 lakh, up from Rs 6 lakh.Camps measuring 5,001-10,000 sq ft will be eligible for up to Rs 5 lakh, while the smallest camps of up to 5,000 sq ft will receive a maximum of Rs 3 lakh.The chief minister said the number of Kanwar camps in Delhi increased from 170 in 2024 to 308 in 2025.
