Hisar: A 32-year-old Delhi Police head constable died of a gunshot wound after being hit during celebratory firing at a family function in Haryana’s Hansi, police said on Thursday.The victim, identified as Amarjeet, was hit in the thigh on Tuesday night during a ‘Jalva Pujan’ ceremony in Sidhwan Khas village. He succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital in Hisar on Wednesday night.Police have registered a case against two named suspects and several unidentified people following a complaint by the victim’s wife, Rinku.Among those named is Surender, a resident of Sidhwan Khas posted with the Haryana Police Crime Investigation Agency (CIA). According to the complaint, Surender and his associate Manoj were firing weapons in the air when a stray bullet struck Amarjeet. Both are absconding.Police have filed a case under Arms Act and relevant provisions of BNS.Amarjeet, a resident of Jind district, is survived by his wife and a six-year-old daughter.
