Mangaluru: Mangaluru city police arrested two alleged burglars from Delhi in Vadodara on Sept 29 in connection with two house break-ins and recovered stolen property worth around Rs 18 lakh.The accused were identified as Arman Khan alias Aman Soni (34), a Gokulpuri resident, and Sanjeev Kumar alias Jani (34), of Sultanpuri, New Delhi.City police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy CH said a house at Sahyoga Residency Complex on Alake Kambla Cross Road was burgled on Sept 28. Its occupants had left for the market around 3pm and returned about 5.10pm to find the front-door latch broken.Gold jewellery, cash, a watch and a trolley bag, together valued at around Rs 14 lakh, were stolen. Mangaluru North police registered a case under Sections 331(3) and 305 of BNS.In another incident, burglars targeted a house on Bokkapatna Road under Barke police station limits during the daytime on Sept 27. They broke open a locker but, finding no valuables, allegedly stole cheque books. Barke police registered a case under Sections 331(3) and 305 of BNS.A special team, guided by central sub-division ACP Ravish Naik, gathered information about the suspects’ movements and found they had boarded a Delhi-bound train after allegedly committing the burglaries. The team sought assistance from Vadodara police, who arrested the suspects within 24 hours of the cases being registered.The accused were brought to Mangaluru and produced before a court, which remanded them in judicial custody. Police said they would seek custody for further investigation.Khan allegedly faces more than 40 burglary cases in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Goa and Hyderabad. Police said warrants and a proclamation were pending against him and the respective police stations had been informed.
