Debasish Roychowdhury has joined Skechers South Asia as Senior General Manager and Head – Legal, Company Secretarial & Compliance, marking a move from his previous role as General Counsel & Head – Legal, Compliance and Secretarial at In-Solutions Global Limited.
Roychowdhury brings over two decades of experience across legal, corporate governance, compliance and secretarial functions. Prior to joining Skechers, Roychowdhury spent around three-and-a-half years with In-Solutions Global, where he was responsible for legal, compliance and secretarial functions at the group level.
During his career, Roychowdhury has worked across areas including corporate and commercial law, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, M&A, contracts and technology-related legal matters. His experience also includes advising businesses on legal and regulatory issues arising from technology, data privacy, cybersecurity and AI.
Announcing his new role, Roychowdhury said he was joining Skechers South Asia at an important stage of its growth and would focus on leveraging legal, governance and compliance functions to support the business.
“I look forward to making legal, governance and compliance strategic catalysts for growth, while partnering with the leadership team to navigate complexity, strengthen governance and create enduring value,” Roychowdhury said in his LinkedIn post.
The move adds to a series of senior in-house legal appointments as companies increasingly position legal and compliance functions as strategic business partners alongside their traditional risk-management responsibilities.
