Kangan, June 28: The body of a young woman, identified as Yasmeena, daughter of Altaf Ahmad and a resident of Thune, Kangan, was recovered on Sunday from the Hydropower Canal at Satrina in central Kashmir’s Kangan area after an extensive search operation by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
According to officials, the woman had reportedly who had jumped into the Hydropower Canal at Thune. Following the incident, SDRF Gund personnel launched a search and rescue operation, which concluded with the recovery of her body from the canal at Satrina.
The body was subsequently handed over to the local police for the completion of legal formalities. Police have taken cognizance of the incident, and further proceedings are underway.
