Ahmedabad: Water supply in western Ahmedabad is likely to be disrupted on Tuesday following a scheduled power shutdown at a key water treatment facility.Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) announced that the 400MLD water treatment plant at Jaspur will remain shut for eight hours, from 8am to 4pm on Monday. The shutdown is necessary for the local power utility to carry out essential pre-monsoon maintenance at the Jaspur 66kV substation. As a result, Tuesday’s water distribution will depend entirely on existing reservoir stocks. Severe water cuts and low-pressure supply are expected in several neighbourhoods in the West, North West and South West zones.AMC officials have urged residents in the affected areas to store sufficient water in advance and use it sparingly. Regular water supply is expected to resume on Wednesday.
