Mysuru: To help tourists explore destinations around Mysuru during the Dasara holidays, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has introduced three one-day special tour packages – Devadarshini, Giridarshini and Jaladarshini – from Oct 16 to 26.The tours will operate from the KSRTC suburban bus stand from Oct 16, with buses departing at 6.30am. The initiative comes as schools and PU colleges across the state remain closed for Dasara until Oct 27.The Devadarshini package covers religious and historical destinations, including Nanjangud, Talakad, Mudukuthore, Shivanasamudra (Bluff), Somanathapura and KRS, spanning 325 km. The fare is Rs 400 for adults and Rs 250 for children.The Giridarshini package is aimed at nature lovers and includes Bandipur, Gopalaswamy Hills, Biligiriranganatha Temple, Nanjangud and Chamundi Hills. Tickets are priced at Rs 450 for adults and Rs 300 for children.Jaladarshini covers popular water and eco-tourism destinations such as Dubare, Golden Temple, Cauvery Nisargadhama, Abbey Falls, Raja Seat and Harangi Dam. The 250-km tour costs Rs 300 for adults and Rs 200 for children.Tourists can book tickets online through www.ksrtc.inKSRTC Mysuru rural divisional controller ST Veeresh said the packages were introduced to offer affordable sightseeing options beyond Dasara events in the city. The corporation expects around 15 lakh passengers during the 11-day festival and has deployed 700 special buses. Additional interstate services will also be operated to key destinations in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
