Jaipur: The Ajmer Dargah Committee complained against Ajmer Congress city president Rajkumar Jaipal for allegedly obstructing fencing work on committee land and pulling down a pillar on Sept 6. However, a day later, it withdrew its request for police action without explaining why. In a letter to Civil Lines police station, Dargah Committee Nazim and CEO, retired BSF DIG Mohammad Bilal Khan, alleged that the land, near an SBI branch and opposite Jaipal’s residence, had earlier been fenced but the fencing was removed. According to the complaint, when committee employees began re-fencing the property on Sept 6, Jaipal allegedly reached the spot and pulled down pillars. The committee said he gathered several people and confronted its employees, who “managed to leave the spot”. It also alleged that Jaipal was trying to take possession of the land and had been parking vehicles there while claiming it as his own. The committee initially sought registration of a case, legal action and protection of the property. However, in a letter dated Sept 7, Khan informed police that the committee no longer wanted legal action on its complaint. “In view of the present circumstances, this office does not expect any kind of legal action in connection with the said email,” the letter stated, asking police to file the communication. The letter did not specify the reason for the withdrawal. TOI called Jaipal for his response, but he did not answer.
