Kolkata: Eastern Railway on Tuesday flagged off its 200th locomotive from the Dunkuni Loco Works, marking a significant production milestone for the unit.Inaugurating Loco No 42862, general manager Milind K Deouskar said, “Last year, Dankuni surpassed its target by producing 156 locomotives against a set target of 100. Continuing this momentum, the unit has achieved 200 locomotives this year against a target of 175″.He added that Dankuni has also become the first railway production unit to successfully integrate Kavach into locomotives, with 85 Kavach-equipped locomotives commissioned this year.The newly manufactured locomotives are equipped with modern features such as inspector seats, 360-degree driver seats, toolkits, signal exchange lights and air-conditioned cabs.
