Patna: The Danapur army recruitment zone will conduct the Agniveer recruitment rally at Danapur cantonment from Sept 22 to Oct 7 with a total of 11,042 candidates expected to participate in the selection process.According to Danapur army recruitment officer Col Bindu Agnihotri, the rally will include candidates applying for various Agniveer categories including technical, tradesman and clerk cadres. Out of the total participants, 253 are women candidates who will take part in the recruitment process, she said.The recruitment rally drive for technical and tradesman categories will be conducted from Sept 22 to 30. Candidates appearing for the clerk cadre will participate in the rally from Oct 1 to Oct 4, she said adding the recruitment rally for women candidates under the Agniveer women military police category will be held on Oct 6 and 7 from Bihar and Jharkhand states.This year, the physical fitness race will be conducted on the roads inside Danapur cantonment instead of the usual field track due to wet ground conditions following rainfall. Col Agnihotri said the change has been made to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the physical tests for the candidates belonging to seven districts like Patna, Vaishali, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Buxar and Bhojpur.According to zonal recruitment officer, the Army has sought support from the district administration and Jeevika Didis to assist in managing arrangements and ensuring the successful completion of the recruitment rally, particularly for women candidates, for which the recruitment office has set up temporary shelters for the stay of the candidates .In addition, the Army has also issued an advisory to candidates, asking them to remain cautious of touts and suspicious persons who may try to mislead them with false promises of selection. Army officials reiterated that recruitment is conducted through a transparent process and candidates should not pay money to anyone claiming to influence the selection process, sources said.
