New Delhi: A 23-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly raped by several men over the past few years and confined in a house in southeast Delhi’s Jamia Nagar after her alleged forced conversion to Islam.Police have arrested four people. The main accused, Fahim, is already in jail in another case and police have filed a production warrant against him.An FIR was registered on May 14 at the Jamia Nagar police station after the woman approached police with allegations of rape, criminal intimidation, wrongful confinement, forced religious conversion and physical assault. The woman alleged that in Nov 2021, a man, identifying himself as Sahil, contacted her on Instagram and introduced himself as a Hindu. She went to a house in Batla House with him in March 2022 where “Sahil” allegedly sexually assaulted her and filmed the act. He started blackmailing her using the videos and threatened to upload them on social media. She was then taken to Meerut where she found out that Sahil was actually Fahim, the complainant claimed. She accused Fahim, his father Khursheed and their family of repeatedly sexually assaulting her, confining her inside the house as well as thrashing and threatening to kill her if she tried to escape. The FIR states that on May 27, 2022, she was taken to a madrassa in Agwanpur at gunpoint and married to him. She alleged that her name was changed to Ayesha, and her Aadhaar details were also manipulated. She also claimed that Khursheed would bring “blood-stained meat” and force her to clean, cut and cook it, and assault her if she refused. The woman told TOI, “He told me that since he cannot go out of India for Haj given his criminal record, he must get a Hindu woman to marry him and convert her to Islam to enter jannat.” Fahim’s brother, Azeem, once hung her daughter upside down from a terrace to threaten her, the FIR stated. She further alleged that unknown men would frequently visit home to trade firearms. According to the complaint, the men were left alone with her and she was raped.“He was sent in and out of jail. When he was sent to jail in Jan 2025, I managed to escape with my three-year-old daughter to Ballabgarh. Even there, he kept calling me and threatened that he would find and kill me,” the woman said.“In May this year, I went to the Ballabgarh station with my daughter to commit suicide, but someone stopped me. He connected me with NGOs, after which I filed a police complaint,” she said.
