Nagpur: The city police’s cyber patrolling team scanned over 6,500 social media posts related to CJP protests between July 20 and 24. Of these, around 350 were red-flagged and reported, while nearly 30 takedown notices were issued to users.Drawing lessons from the March 17 riots in central Nagpur, commissioner of police Vishwas Nangre Patil and Joint CP Navinchandra Reddy directed cyber vigilance teams to act swiftly against objectionable posts.DCP (Detection and Cyber) Deepak Aggarwal said digital monitoring was carried out alongside heavy ground deployment at protest sites.“This dual strategy of physical presence and digital surveillance reflects the evolving nature of modern protests, where online narratives can quickly translate into street action,” Joint CP Reddy said.
