DHARMAPURI: Forest department personnel and fire and rescue services personnel on Monday rescued a six-foot-long crocodile that fell into a well in Keel Sengappadi village near Harur in Dharmapuri district. Farmer Venkatachalam, who found the crocodile lying in his agricultural well, informed the Harur forest department and the fire department. The teams rushed to the spot and rescued male crocodile using a net and ropes after a three-hour struggle.“The crocodile came out of the Thenpennai river in the Theerthamalai reserve forest area in search of prey and fell into the well, forest range officer K Gokul said.The rescued crocodile underwent a medical examination. Since there were no injuries, it was released into the integrated watershed area where the Thenpennai river and the protected reserve forest are located.
