In a statement, Crime Branch Kashmir said the chargesheet was filed before the Court of Judicial Magistrate First Class, Sogam, Lolab, against Abhisek Prajapat, who had served as branch manager at the bank’s Lalpora branch.
The case involves alleged financial irregularities during his tenure at the bank’s Lalpora, Kanthipora and Kupwara branches.

Investigators also identified the alleged diversion of Rs 25,850 from official bank expenditure accounts, besides Rs 24,100 shown as unwarranted expenditure, causing a reported loss of Rs 49,950 to the bank.
The case originated from a complaint filed by the Regional Manager of J&K Grameen Bank, Kupwara, which was forwarded by the Anti-Corruption Bureau to Crime Headquarters for action.
Following preliminary verification by the Economic Offences Wing, FIR No. 09/2026 was registered at Police Station Special Crime Wing on May 13, 2026.
