Amravati: The inauguration of the new 4-lane railway flyover at Gate No. S-01, Junivasti, Badnera, built at a cost of around ₹67 crore between Badnera and Amravati stations, is scheduled for Sunday, July 12, at 11 am at Old Octroi Naka Chowk. But a credit row has erupted ahead of the event over MLA Ravi Rana’s separate invitation card. While the official programme circular issued by Central Railway clearly names Amravati MP Balwant Wankhade, Rana’s invitation allegedly omits both Wankhade and MLC Pravin Pote-Patil. Local corporators’ names, however, have been prominently featured.Political circles allege this was a deliberate attempt to sideline senior representatives and take sole credit for the project. Experts say such exclusion violates parliamentary tradition and political etiquette. There has been no official response yet from MP Wankhade or MLC Pote-Patil. With local body elections approaching, the controversy is likely to intensify.
