Mangaluru: A case has been registered at Subrahmanya police station after unidentified persons were caught on a CCTV camera allegedly stealing a cow and transporting it in a car in a cruel manner during the early hours of Wednesday.According to police, the incident occurred between 2.30am and 2.50am on the road in front of Shashti Lodge in Subrahmanya village of Kadaba taluk. CCTV footage from a nearby shop reportedly captured two individuals catching the cow that was standing by the roadside and forcefully loading it into a car before fleeing from the spot.Based on a complaint filed by Shekhar A, police registered a case unsder the Sections 303(2) and 3(5) of BNS, Sections 4, 5 and 12 of the, Section 11(1)(d) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and Sections 66 and 192(A) of the IMV Act. Police said further investigation is underway.
