Gorakhpur: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday directed officials to ensure that every eligible and needy person is covered under the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme so that they do not face difficulties in accessing medical treatment.During a Janata Darshan, he met 150 people and assured those seeking financial assistance for medical treatment. He said eligible beneficiaries should first be covered under the Ayushman scheme and, if additional help was required, assistance could be provided through the Chief Minister’s discretionary fund.A specially-abled man from Deoria sought help for medical treatment during the interaction. On learning that he did not possess an Ayushman card, the chief minister directed officials to facilitate its immediate issuance.He also enquired about the man’s disability pension and was informed that it had been discontinued. The CM instructed officials to restore the pension after due verification.Earlier in the morning, the chief minister offered prayers at the Gorakhnath Temple and later visited the temple cowshed, where he fed jaggery to cattle and reviewed their health, vaccination status and overall care arrangements.
