Nagpur: A four-wheeler seized by police was stolen from the Jaripatka police station. The car was parked on a road in front of Jaripatka police station.This is the second such theft of a seized vehicle from a police station in the city. A week ago, a seized truck was stolen by the driver from Pardi police station. The truck is still untraceable, while the driver has been arrested.In the latest case, the vehicle was impounded on May 3 following a clash involving its owners from Arya Nagar. It was parked at the station after the owners moved court for its release. However, during a routine check on June 3, police discovered that the car was missing. CCTV footage revealed that a masked couple entered the station premises and drove away the vehicle without resistance in broad daylight on May 23.Acting swiftly, Jaripatka police nabbed Saurav Gajbhiye and his woman friend from Arya Nagar and brought the car back to the police station. The couple has been charged with stealing the vehicle from police custody. Following interrogation, they were released on notices, while the stolen car was traced and impounded again.
