Varanasi: A couple aged between 23 and 27 years hanged themselves from the ceiling of their room at Shripatti village under Chilh police station in Mirzapur district on Sunday night.The deceased were identified as Rohit Vishwakarma (27) and his wife Saraswati Vishwakarma (23). Mirzapur ASP (city) Nitesh Singh said on Monday that the incident came to light when they did not open the door till late and their family members broke into the room and found the two hanging from the ceiling. On being alerted, Chilh police along with a forensic team reached the spot and sent the bodies for postmortem after the collection of necessary evidence. The ASP said that the reason behind the couple taking the extreme step was yet to be ascertained.
