Vadodara: A young couple died after jumping into the Mahi river from Umeta Bridge in Anklav taluka of Anand district on Tuesday morning.The deceased have been identified as Mahesh Solanki (20) and Jagruti Solanki (19). Police have registered a case of accidental death and launched an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.According to preliminary information, the duo arrived at Umeta Bridge and jumped into the river flowing beneath it. Passers-by who witnessed the incident alerted the police and fire brigade.Fire brigade personnel launched a search operation in the river and recovered both bodies within a few hours.
