Hyderabad: Karimnagar police have recovered two pistols used by the three accused allegedly involved in the PMJ jewellery robbery case during the custodial interrogation of the trio.On May 3, five persons walked into PMJ jewellery posing as customers, fired at the staff and fled with 1.61 kg gold and 112 carats of diamonds. So far, police have arrested six persons.Police said that the two shooters — Raghunath Karmakar and Ravish Kumar — reportedly confessed that the weapons were hidden in bushes near the Velichala bypass after the robbery. After they were taken to the spot during scene reconstruction, the pistols were found and the weapons were seized.Apart from Raghunath and Ravish, prime conspirator Subodh Singh from Bihar was also questioned by police during the four-day custodial interrogation. Subodh Singh was earlier brought on a prison transit warrant to Telangana. Police also recovered a mobile phone abandoned by the accused at Madhanur village in Dharmapuri.Police claimed that Subodh Singh was non-cooperative during questioning and when statements of each accused were corroborated, they were inconsistent.Police said that Amar Singh, another wanted accused, was also caught in West Bengal and he was being brought to Karimnagar. Amar reportedly paid money to the shooters at the behest of Subodh Singh. Police intend to approach the court again to seek custody of the accused. Subodh Singh denied having any role in the PMJ jewellery robbery.
