Noida: Police have launched a probe after a woman allegedly uploaded a video on social media making unverified claims about Yamuna Expressway bus fire. In the caption, the woman claimed that workers of some political parties had set the bus on fire and claimed that at least 30 passengers, all from minority communities, had been killed.Police said the post appeared intended to create communal tension and disturb public order and registered an FIR against the account holder, who went by the name of Ruma Khatun, under BNS Sections 353(1)(b)(2) (statements conducing to public mischief) and Section 66 of the IT Act on the complaint by sub-inspector Sumit Kumar, who is posted with the police media cell.Nine of the 35 passengers aboard a private AC sleeper bus (BR32PA8647) bound from Kashmere Gate in Delhi to Mahoba died after the vehicle caught fire on Yamuna Expressway in Jewar on Sept 23 around 11.30 am.Police said they were trying to trace the account from which it was uploaded and the circumstances under which it was circulated. Police are also trying to identify the woman.
