Patiala: Two days after a 27-year-old motorcyclist was found stabbed to death along the Patiala–Sangrur highway after being abducted by SUV borne youth, the Patiala police have arrested three accused in the case.Police claimed that the victim was earlier charged under two separate cases of brawl and sexual harassment and spent time in jail in 2023. “He was accused of harassing a girl, who later relocated to Canada. However, he continued to call the girl, who later informed his brother about it,” said a police officer.Police said that enraged over her sister’s harassment, the key accused, along with two others, attacked the victim with sharp edged weapons and later dumped his body near Kalajhar village of the district. The victim, a resident of Dakala village in Patiala district, was riding near a petrol pump on the Patiala–Sangrur road around 1.30pm when a SUV allegedly swerved into the wrong-way lane and hit his motorcycle head-on. CCTV cameras at the fuel station captured the collision. Investigators said the occupants overpowered the victim and forced him into the SUV. Minutes later, a passerby filmed the victim hanging halfway out of a window of the SUV as it sped towards Sangrur. The victim’s body was subsequently recovered from the roadside in Kalajhar in neighbouring Sangrur district.
