Jhansi: In a disciplinary action, a head constable in Lalitpur district was dismissed from service by SP Lalitpur Mohd Mushtaque on Tuesday over charges of harassment, corruption and criminal misconduct. When a female assistant SI (clerk) became aware of his activities, he reportedly began harassing and threatening her.The officials said that a preliminary inquiry was initially conducted by the ASP, in which Jitendra was found guilty. Subsequently, a formal departmental proceeding was initiated under Rule 14 (1) of the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Police Officers (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 1991.To ensure a fair probe, IG Jhansi range Akash Khulari assigned the investigation to SP (Rural) Jhansi Arvind Kumar.
