Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court Advocates’ Association has urged that only practising advocates of Telangana origin be considered for elevation as judges to the HC by following social justice norms and by giving proper representation to all sections.The association made this appeal to the Supreme Court and high court collegiums on Monday, during an extraordinary general body meeting (EGM) presided by its president S Surender Reddy at the high court.A unanimous resolution was passed in this regard to address a letter to the Chief Justice of India, and to organise a demonstration as a mark of protest on June 17 at the high court premises.It was further resolved to submit a representation to the CJI, collegium members of the Supreme Court, Union minister for law and justice, governor and chief minister of Telangana, and presidents of all political parties requesting to consider the names of candidates only of Telangana origin for elevation as judges to the HC.
