Following the assembly election results, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Gaurav Gogoi held a crucial review meeting today at Rajiv Bhawan with several party cells.

The meeting involved lengthy discussions with the Media and Communication department, Social Media department, War Room, and the Legal Cell. They analyzed the party’s standing among the public from the polling phase to the counting stage, the performance of various campaign-related wings, and the nature of the public’s response.

Gogoi stated that in response to the people’s call to reshape the party, Congress has begun preparations to build a ‘New Congress‘ to create a ‘Greater Assam’ (Bor Asom).

Gogoi added, “The people of Assam are finding it difficult to believe these election results. From the very beginning, our focus will be on correcting our mistakes, taking our message to the grassroots, and neutralizing the BJP’s misinformation. We discussed how to use our volunteers, well-wishers, and supporters to counter the BJP’s money-powered propaganda through the channels available to us.”

He further noted, “We have engaged in extensive discussions with the Media Cell, Social Media Cell, and various organizational branches. We have already reached a decision. Our goal is to present a New Congress to the people. We had many plans for social media, the media department, and public relations, but could not implement them due to a lack of time. Now, post-results, we have the time and the feedback. We know where we fell short and what the people disliked. Congress will fulfill the public’s expectations; our journey has already begun.”
Regarding Akhil Gogoi’s criticism of the Congress, Gaurav Gogoi made a significant remark, stating that Akhil Gogoi habitually criticizes the party because he enjoys doing so, adding that “the public knows whether he stands with the ruling side or the opposition.”

Furthermore, Gogoi confirmed that no Congress representative would attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new government tomorrow. He explained that the opposition cannot take lightly the fact that a constitutional ceremony is being turned into an expensive, political, and election-style rally.
