While most parties were of the view that a discussion be held where all parties can express their views, Congress insisted in the Business Advisory Committee meeting of the Lok Sabha that it does not want a debate without the assurance that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak on the issue.
During the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting of the Rajya Sabha as well, Congress leaders demanded that the PM must reply on the discussion on Operation Sindoor. AAP leaders stated clearly that the party is not in favour of a reply by the PM.
The government indicated that the right to decide on who shall reply to the discussion is with the government and it will be decided at the appropriate time.
Apart from AAP, the other Opposition parties are also keen on a debate and not putting Modi’s reply as the precondition.
