T’puram: A Serve Air aircraft from Democratic Republic of Congo has arrived for maintenance and base check at the MRO facility in Thiruvananthapuram airport.The private cargo airline of the African country will undergo checks at the base maintenance facility of AI Engineering Services Ltd (AIESL) which is capable of carrying out wheel and brake overhaul and battery servicing or checks for Boeing and Airbus aircraft. Serve Air has Boeing aircraft. The base check involves structural checks, system overhaul and repairs. The MRO in the city has emerged as a key facility with the arrival of the aircraft belonging to a foreign carrier for checks. It was only a few days ago the MRO received DGCA approval for structural and composite repairs on Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 components and is equipped to handle repairs and certification of components, including doors, flight controls, flap and fairings.
