Kolkata: Congress secured permission on Wednesday for Rahul Gandhi to hold three rallies in Bengal on Saturday — a day after police denied clearance for his April 23 appearances.Gandhi will address rallies in Sreerampore, Metiaburuz and at Shahid Minar in central Kolkata, in that order, said Congress senior Amitabha Chakraborty. Congress had originally proposed Ramlila Ground at Entally or Park Circus Maidan for the central Kolkata rally, along with venues in Metiaburuz and Serampore — all of which were initially refused.Gandhi on Wednesday posted a video outlining five guarantees for Bengal: Rs 2,000 monthly for women, health insurance up to Rs 10 lakh, free cancer treatment and dialysis at district hospitals, free education until graduation, and filling of vacant govt posts within a year along with Rs 15,000 annually for farmers.
