Hyderabad: Refuting charges that it received notices from mines and geology department, Raghava Constructions (India) said it came to know about allegations on an illegal crusher in Shamshabad and alleged evasion of seigniorage payment only through assembly proceedings. In a statement on Monday, Raghava Constructions director D Niranjan Reddy said the company never established or operated any crusher on their own at Kothwalguda village in Shamshabad mandal. Reddy said that Sree Thirumala Metal Industry had taken on lease a crusher in Nov 2024 for its crushing operations. The company said its managing director is Ponguleti Prasad Reddy, and that no immediate family member of minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy is involved in its operations. In the statement, the company said, “Harish Rao, MLA, referred to certain show-cause notices issued to M/s Raghava Constructions by assistant director (AD) of mines and geology, RR district, and read out the contents during assembly proceedings. He stated that joint inspections were carried out by officials of revenue deparment, Pollution Control Board (PCB), electricity and mines departments before issuing notices, which is not correct.” The director said the company was in need of crushed stone aggregates for their road works from HRDCL and has been purchasing crushed stone aggregates from Sree Tirumala Metal Industry.Claiming it is not responsible for the payment of seigniorage fee for the stocks available at the crusher or stock point, the company said it does not carry out crushing operations. “The notices supposedly issued by the mines department were not delivered to Raghava Constructions either to their official address or to any of their authorised representatives,” Niranjan Reddy said.
