Jaipur: Commercial Taxes department has taken action against Path Career Institute on Piprali Road, Sikar, after detecting under-reporting turnover during a special compliance drive targeting coaching institutes across the state.Officials said the survey revealed a tax liability of Rs 2.01 crore. Of this, the institute deposited Rs 1.40 crore immediately, while the remaining Rs 61 lakh is expected to be paid next month. Preliminary findings indicate the institute, which provides coaching services to NEET aspirants, had reported lower turnover than its actual business.The department said that statewide investigations into coaching institutes will continue, with strict measures against tax evasion and irregularities causing loss to state revenue.
