COIMBATORE: The Coimbatore city police have formed three special teams to apprehend 434 absconding individuals against whom non-bailable arrest warrants have been issued by courts.The teams have arrested 26 absconding suspects since they were formed on Saturday.A senior police officer stated, “Orders were issued to track down all individuals absconding with pending arrest warrants in Coimbatore city, following which detailed records were compiled. The review revealed that 434 individuals were absconding, 169 in the South Zone and 265 in the North Zone. Each team comprise one sub-inspector and six police personnel. They have been provided with three dedicated vehicles.”He added that the teams were carrying out searches in various locations and neighbouring districts. During the operation, it was discovered that more than 20 people on the list were in prison for other offences while a few others had passed away.
