TNNKanpur: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the illegal sale of codeine syrup across several states filed a 5,000-page chargesheet in court on Thursday, naming alleged kingpin Vinod Agrawal, his son Shivam Agrawal and associate Prabhat Khare.During the investigation, the SIT identified 32 firms through which the gang allegedly showed the supply of 1.12 crore bottles of codeine syrup over the past two years.DCP (Crime) Shravan Kumar Singh said the chargesheet, comprising about 5,000 pages, was filed against Vinod Agrawal, Shivam Agrawal and Prabhat Khare. It includes statements from 61 witnesses, including complainants, members of the drugs department team and police personnel.At present, Vinod Agrawal, Shivam Agrawal, Prabhat Khare, Vishal Singh Sisodiya, Rohan Pachauri and Sumit Kesarwani are in jail, while Ved Prakash Shivhare, Anmol Gupta, Manju Sharma and Abhishek Sharma remain absconding.
