Ahmedabad: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday declared the results of the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2026 held on Jan 25 for admissions to MBA and MCA colleges across the country. Of the 53,453 candidates who registered for the test, 41,872 or 78.3% appeared. Currently, the state admission committee oversees intake for over 27,000 MBA and MCA seats combined. There were 19,905 female candidates, 21,966 male candidates, and one transgender candidate. In Gujarat, approximately 14,000 students took the test.Only 2,000 to 3,000 from the total candidates secure admission through the CMAT process. After completing CMAT admissions, the remaining vacant seats are handed over to respective colleges. These seats are then filled by candidates who did not appear for CMAT. Many students choose not to appear for CMAT, knowing that admissions are eventually offered even without the entrance test if seats remain vacant.
Data shows that 20,502 candidates were from the general category, 12,541 were from the OBC category, 5,565 from the EWS category, 2,540 from the SC category, 724 from the ST category, and 107 from the PwD category.
