Chikkamagaluru: Two days after BJP MLC CT Ravi allegedly made derogatory remarks against a community, Chikkamagaluru police have booked him for promoting enmity and hatred between different religious groups under the provisions of BNS.A senior police officer told TOI that an FIR was registered under Section 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Ravi based on the complaint by Mudassir Pasha.Ravi, in his speech during a BJP protest in Chikkamagaluru on July 23, questioned the connection between ‘Mullahs’ (Muslims) and the NEET protest, saying: “If you cut open their chest, there won’t be three letters. Yet they come and protest against NEET. What does that mean?”Calling the protesters at Jantar Mantar ‘Tukde‘ gang, Ravi claimed that those talking about dividing India had joined the protest.Ravi has been facing multiple charges in several police stations in Karnataka. In 2025, Maddur police registered a suo motu case against Ravi for his inflammatory speech during a Ganesha immersion event.
