COIMBATORE: Puthiya Tamilagam president Dr K Krishnasamy on Monday criticised chief minister C Joseph Vijay’s reply in the Tamil Nadu assembly, alleging that it lacked legislative decorum and resembled a “cinema style” speech. He said the chief minister’s manner of speaking in the assembly was not in line with tradition.Speaking to reporters at his residence in Kuniyamuthur, Dr Krishnasamy said as time had been allotted for the chief minister’s reply during the police department grant demand, he had expected the CM to outline steps to prevent murders and address law and order issues, including crimes against women and oppressed communities. “But the CM’s reply did not meet expectations. The assembly platform was used primarily to target DMK,” he said.Dr Krishnasamy said there was no disagreement on the need to eradicate corruption but added that those speaking on the issue should act with neutrality. He questioned the credibility of the CM’s anti-corruption rhetoric while associating with people like C Vijayabaskar and M R Vijayabaskar.He said the chief minister was running the govt with people who had sought votes using the name of “Stalin as chief minister.”
